Noni’s debut chapbook, SEMIOTICS, is an archive of their 2026 Juneteenth JoyFest performance as well as a debut publication for North Omaha publishing company Postell Road Publishing Company led by Nancy Williams. This collection of poetry celebrates the theme “Movement and Migration” in an exploration of what The Great Migration means to her.
We follow four major themes that Noni identifies after spending time with the works of Black visual artists, poets, and authors who were creating and sharing art during the time of The Great Migration like Betye Saar, Faith Ringgold, Jacob Lawrence, Aaron Douglas, Richard Wright, Zora Neale Hurston, Langston Hughes, Toni Morrison, James Baldwin, Gwendolyn Brooks, Claude McKay, Margaret Walker, and Nikki Giovanni.
This chapbook is an offering from Louisiana to North Omaha to the world. It is speckled with language and layered images made of water color, linocut prints, and handmade paper by our pal Emily Anderson over at Underwood Books in Omaha.
Ships within 7-10 business days of the purchase date. Shipping and insurance are included in the pricing.
All artwork remains the copyright of Noni Williams and may not be reproduced in any way. NOT FOR RESALE.
